Who Operates Worker

Worker is operated by the Prison Architect Community Discord. You can contact us about Worker by joining the Prison Architect Community Discord server and contacting us via ModMail. An alternative form of contact is via the r/PrisonArchitect Subreddit ModMail.

Our Lawful Basis

We process this information under the lawful basis of legitimate interests. Our legitimate interest, where applicable, is providing and maintaining the server's levelling and automated role system.

Our legitimate interests also include protecting participating servers from spam and abuse, operating automated moderation and onboarding features, providing relevant automated responses, and operating server engagement features that depend on current member presence or activity information.

What User Data We Collect

When you send a message to a Discord server that uses Worker bot, the following identifiable information is recorded about you:

• Server ID
• User ID
• Number of messages levelled up

Worker does not store the contents of messages sent by users. Providing this information is necessary to participate in Worker's levelling system. If you do not want to participate in Worker's levelling system, you may opt out by never sending a message in the server.

Worker processes certain information about messages in real time where this is necessary to operate automated responses and moderation features. This may include message content, attachments, the number of attachments sent, the user who sent the message, the channel in which it was sent and the time at which it was sent. Message content is not stored by Worker as part of its levelling database.

Worker uses message content to identify configured phrases which cause the bot to send an automatic informational response. Server administrators can configure the phrases that cause these responses.

Worker also processes message and attachment information to detect patterns associated with image spam. This includes checking the number of attachments contained in messages and, where required, whether multiple messages containing attachments have been sent by the same user within a short period of time. If configured thresholds are met, Worker may temporarily time out the user and send information about the incident to authorised staff so that moderators can review the action, ban the user where appropriate or remove the timeout.

Worker processes server membership information where required for membership and onboarding features. This may include a user's ID, roles, whether they have joined or left a server and whether they have completed Discord's membership screening process. This information is used to send configured welcome, join and leave messages and to apply or remove configured roles.

Worker processes limited Discord presence information for specific server features. This may include a user's current presence status, the type of Discord client they are using and activities or games that Discord reports them as currently using. Worker uses this information in real time and does not maintain a historical record of users' presence or activity information.

Server administrators may submit the following information to the bot:

• Messages uploaded purposefully via files
• Phrases used for automatic message triggering
• Phrases used for suggesting random topics

Their contributions may be removed by using the designated "remove" commands.

Why We Collect Your Data

We collect this data to do the following:

• Allow you to level up in the server and gain roles
• Send configured automatic informational responses to relevant messages
• Detect and respond to image spam and other configured abuse patterns
• Allow moderators to review automated anti-spam actions
• Send configured welcome, join and leave notifications
• Apply or remove roles following membership screening or other configured events
• Determine whether certain presence-dependent commands can be used
• Display an aggregate count of members currently playing Prison Architect

Safeguarding and Securing the Data

Your information is stored in the United Kingdom and is retained for the length of time that Worker is in a Discord server you have participated in. Personal data may be accessed by Worker developers and our hosting or infrastructure providers where necessary to operate and maintain the bot. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising purposes.

You may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or request restriction of our processing by contacting us through our contact links. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Presence and activity information is used only while required to provide the relevant feature and is not retained by Worker as a historical record. Message content inspected for automatic responses is not stored by Worker. Where an automated moderation rule is triggered, relevant information about the incident may be sent to a configured staff channel on Discord for review by authorised server moderators.

Worker's automated image spam protection may temporarily restrict a user's ability to communicate when configured spam thresholds are met. The action is reported to server moderators, who can review the incident and remove the restriction where appropriate.
